The Safe That Beat the Experts

The Independent recently published a great article on the 10 Best Security Gadgets available. In at Number 2 on the list was a home safe which faced up to the challenge of a test break in by the experts – and won.

Burton’s Torino NMK/4 safe was featured by the experts at Which? Magazine, after they tried to break into it and simply couldn’t; no matter what they tried.

They hammered, drilled and smashed the safe as much as they could but didn’t get inside.

While this might have been news to readers, it certainly wasn’t to us. We’ve been a champion of Burton Safes for years. We even have a great video on the site which introduces viewers to all of the safety features that the Burton Torino NMK/4 has to offer.

You can watch it here right now.

In addition to winning the Which? Magazine Best Domestic Safe Test Award, the Burton Torino NMK/4 is also certified to EN 14450 by the ICIM after coming through their own independent attack test. It also has the stamp of approval from the Association of Insurance Surveyors (AiS).

So what makes this particular safe such a world beater?
A solid, extra-heavy-duty manufacture of the door and body certainly help. Not to mention the four steel bolts. When bolted down in a cupboard or wall fixture, the Torino NMK/4 has a cash rating of £4,000. This also means it covers valuables to the sum of £40,000.

It’s just about all that any home owner could ask for in a domestic safe. But it wasn’t the only safe available from eSafes which made the Independent’s Top 10, although the other is a little less expected.

It’s manufactured by no less an established brand in Securikey, but it’s less expected because it looks exactly like a tin of beans.
The Securikey Decoy Can Safe swaps the heavy-duty hardware for the element of surprise. It’s designed to be disguised amongst the contents of your cupboards; because your burglars plan to make off with your baked beans.
